ACHARYA KIZHANELLUR PARAMESWARAN NAMBOOTHIRI PASSED AWAY
Vetyeran Arya Missionary and Vedic scholar Acharya Kizhanellur
Parameswaran Namboothiri (92) passed away today morning at
Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district of Kerala. He served as an Acharya
in a Arya Samaj Gurukul (Gurudath Bhavan) at lahore and returned to
India when his Gurukul was destroyed by burning by miscrents during the
1946 partition time riots. He collected a handful of vedic literatures
and managed to escape from Lahore. He travelled through Karachi and
reached Bombay. He was a leading force behind the rejuvenation of Arya
samaj movement in Kerala especially in Malabar Area. He translated the
famous hindi book Vaidik Sampathi of Pt. Raghunandan Sharma into
malayalam. Also translated Dayananda Bhashyam of Yajurvedam and Parts of
Rigvedam. Samavedam and few Kandas of Atharva vedam also translated to
Malayalam. He was a great scholar of Sanskrit, English, Hindi,
Gujarathi, Marathi, Pustho, Pali etc. With his demise Arya jagath lost a
great scholar.
